Parking Construction Information

The Parking Garage Expansion Project is the first of many construction projects that are aimed at elevating the passenger experience and accommodating continued airport growth. Continue to check this page for updated construction notices.

February 5, 2024: McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) will close a portion of its Long-Term Parking lot to begin work on its Parking Garage Expansion Project. Limited garage parking will still be available in the Long-Term Lot, and guests will still have full access to the Short-Term Lot. The new garage will be 6 stories and will add 3,500 convenient parking spots adjacent to the airport terminal building.

The partial closure of the Long-Term parking lot will be offset with the addition of more than 1,000 parking spaces in the airport’s new Economy Lot C.  From this new lot, a 24-hour shuttle service will transport passengers and guests to and from the airport terminal building. The estimated time on the shuttle from the new lot is 15 minutes. Passengers and guests will need to include this additional time when planning to arrive at the airport.
