February 7, 2024: Frontier Airlines announced new flights to Philadelphia International Airport starting May 16, 2024. This is the second air service announcement for the airport this week.
“When you have community support and a growing region, airlines take notice,” said Patrick Wilson, MKAA President. “Today’s announcement by Frontier Airlines is a result of our efforts in making the best business case possible for bringing air service to McGhee Tyson Airport. East Tennesseans will only benefit from Frontier’s ultra-low fares to a popular destination.”
Frontier Airlines has provided flights to and from McGhee Tyson Airport since the summer of 2011. They offer flights to Denver, Orlando, and starting in May, Philadelphia.
“We are excited to bring another ultra-low fare flight option to Knoxville with new service to Philadelphia,” said Josh Flyr, vice president, network operations and design. “As we continue to grow, we look forward to further expanding the availability of convenient, affordable air travel choices for those in the greater Knoxville region.”
